Ingredients

  • 6 slices american cheese chopped
  • 1 cup noodles
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.Add 1 cup of noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the noodles.
  • In the same pot, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over low heat.Add the chopped American cheese slices, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Return the cooked noodles to the pot.Gradually add the reserved pasta water, stirring until the sauce coats the noodles evenly.Season with salt to taste.
  • Spoon the creamy mac and cheese into a bowl and enjoy immediately. Optional: top with panko bread crumbs for added flavor and crunch.
